I am told Pop Hicks is the oldest continuously operating restaurant along old Route 66 in Oklahoma.
This photo takes shows a same sample of the way old Route 66 looked as it went through Clinton, Oklahoma. Places such as Pop Hicks and Clancy's used to be the norm when I was young.
Nearby you can stop at the Route 66 Museum. If you go in July, look for Hot Dog Days.
The family liked the idea of the museum and the restaurant. However, they quickly wanted to get back on to Interstate 40. I was the only one that had ever traveled Route 66 in my family. This meant they had no memories to reawaken.
