My oldest daughter was not yet a year old when we took her to Connecticut to see her uncle. While hiking is not now her favorite activity, she does enjoy sports. Who knows after she is done with basketball she may get back in to hiking.
I was surprised to find this much nature so close to the population centers of the east coast. The secret is to look for it. you never know where you can find a quiet spot.
